“I Feel Like A Black Republican, Tote Tha Mac When In Public and Act So Southern and Die For Mah Brother and Money”

The Republican party says: Who needs black people when you can have a talentless novelty rap duo from Dartmouth?

These guys have been on YouTube for a while… apparently their star is rising.

Rap tends to resonate with those groups who feel marginalized. Good rap seems to come out of groups that both feel and are marginalized. The above is what you get when a group feels marginalized, but isn’t (Dartmouth students… come on!), but tries anyway… O how they’re trying…

Mike Huckabee’s impressed. Man appreciates effort.

I like the verse where the dude accuses Obama of dictating how he should run his restaurant. Even if it was true that Obama maliciously wanted to tell people how to run their restaurants, I’m always staggered by the poverty of the far right’s notion of freedom.

Note: The title’s from the Lil’ Wayne / Juelz Santana song, Black Republican. The song actually provides a nice contrast. Wayne’s running on empathy in this one, and he still kicks their ass. (Wayne’s got the second verse–1:45… IMO Santana’s stuff is only okay… actually, I like Santana’s second verse):

But this isn’t a diss post either… We don’t diss them we dismiss them.
