War rhetoric

From the Iran Daily:

Commander of the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari Sunday said today the most important mission of Basij (volunteer forces) is confronting the cultural offensive of enemies which has targeted the youth.

“Basij commanders should prioritize their missions and carry out the most important ones. They should not allow their important tasks to be sidelined due to the high number of missions,“ he told a meeting of Basij commanders nationwide, Mehr News Agency reported.

“Today’s war is of a cultural nature. In this war, the enemy has targeted the faith and religious beliefs of our society. We should work hard to help to deepen the faith of our youth.“

Recently Jafari had said the nature of threats posed against the Islamic Revolution and system “has changed and Basij has been notified of its new mission.“

Confronting the enemy’s cultural threats is on the agenda of the IRGC and Basij. The leader’s directives and structural changes in the elite corps and the asij are in line with those directives, he stressed.
